Student Aid Foundation

Educational loans are granted on the basis of financial need, academic ability and the desire to succeed and obtain an education.

Requirements:
  1. Female.
  2. Resident of Georgia or out-of-state resident attending a Georgia school.
  3. Full-time student.
  4. United States Citizen.
  5. A minimum Grade Point Average of no less than 2.5 (high school or college).
  6. Financially responsible person (other than yourself) to endorse/co-sign your promissory note.
  7. Application must be complete when it arrives in our office. It must include your essay, transcripts, photo and all requested information on the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered for a loan.
  8. At this time, we do not offer loans to students attending class on the internet.
Provisions:
  • Interest-free loans while enrolled in school
  • Funds which are disbursed per semester/quarter directly to the school
    Undergraduate students: $3,500 to $5,000 per year for freshman and sophomore years; $3,500 to $7,500 for junior and senior years if GPA is 3.0 or better.
    Graduate students: $7,500 per year
  • Interest begins three months after graduation or upon leaving school. Interest rate is six percent for first four years, then increases to 12 percent.
  • Minimum repayment amount is $20 per $1,000 or $100 per month, whichever is greater.

Deadlines:

Applications for a loan for the next school year (fall, spring, and summer terms) will be accepted beginning March 1st and must be received by April 15th along with all requested documents.
